I remember Promises was my favorite track off M/M when it dropped but over the years Yellowbelly has taken over. It was a tough choice but them being both finalist makes me happy.

I've never felt that it fit the aesthetic or flow of the rest of the album very well, especially as the penultimate track and even though I love the song. I thought it would have been better served as a final "goodbye" track to release to the fans before the hiatus.

The transition from "Listen Through Me" to "Anthology" on the record has always been awkward to me and I don't think "Anthology" flows into "Disarmed" very well either. But, if you take out "Anthology", LTM flows into "Disarmed" really well IMO.

 

I agree, it feels really out of place as the 10th track.
