It is true, from Genius: I also think that lyrically it tackles similar, but not identical, themes to the song "Beggars" in that certain things in our life our out of our control.
It's ok. I'm really of two minds on a lot of M/m. I think the music and Dustin's vocal performances are great, but the overtly-religious lyrics on a lot of them, plus the muddy production, ruin them for me.
Listened to it a few times - couldn't tell you what a song sounded like on it off the top of my head.
Current scores: Disarmed - 7 Blinded - 12 Yellow Belly - 18 Listen Through Me - 1 Call it in the Air - 9 Blur - 10
Score update: Disarmed - 9 Blinded - 13 Yellow Belly - 21 Listen Through Me - 1 Call it in the Air - 11 Blur - 11
Can’t believe Disarmed is going to lose to Blinded, ugh. But at least Listen Through Me is getting rightfully crushed!
Time's up! Final scores: Disarmed - 11 Blinded - 14 Yellow Belly - 24 Listen Through Me - 1 Call it in the Air - 12 Blur - 13 Round 2: Words in the Water vs Blinded Treading Paper vs Anthology Cataracts vs Yellow Belly Promises vs Blur
Disarmed Listen Through Me Blur Yellow/Listen is kind of an unfortunate match-up. I don't think Listen Through Me is one of the strongest on M/M, although I dig the muscle in Dustin's voice and the keys in the second verse. But lately I just find myself skipping Yellow Belly when it comes through on shuffle. Song wrecks live, though. Edit: Dang, didn't make the cut. But I'll stand by that half-hearted defense of Listen.
