I could support Silhouette over the title track, but not Stare At the Sun over Under a Killing Moon.

 

The most frustrating thing about these brackets is the singles always seem to win. They’re great songs but usually far from the best.

 

I love Killing Moon way more but Sun has the bass lines, the melody and incredible lyrics. I can see why it's winning.

But come on people, vote Killing Moon.

 

Artist is such a mix bag.

Killing Moon is pretty uninteresting to me. I would only listen to it in the context of the album. Otherwise it’s not anything i would ever turn on.

 

But the guitar riffs and the ending..... it's a track I never skip when it comes on.

Killing Moon was my first Thrice song so I'll always love it dearly.

 

Lyrics are incredibly important and they are just super unengaging on that song.

 

No joke, the first song I heard by them was Stare at the Sun and I thought they were lame until my friend was like "Dude you gotta hear the harder stuff on this album." He showed me Paper Tigers, Blood Clots, and Killing Moon and I fell in love with the band. It was the hardest stuff I was listening to at the time, I didn't even like screams/harsh vocals prior to this album lol

 

This will be the final score, so I have a tie to break. It is not an easy one as I love both songs, but The Artist in the Ambulance holds a special place in my heart, so I will give it the edge.

I'm honestly bummed that those two songs are going to be the finals. Neither are close to being the best on the album

 

I like both of the songs in the latter match-up over both in the former. That said...

When I first heard them as a kid, I thought "And watch the Witches BURRRNNNN *amazing guitar riff*" was so metal and loved the lyrics lol.
