Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of the Chorus forums discography brackets. This time, our bracket master @BTDandFeelingThis will be taking a break and I will be running the bracket. I am very excited about this one as it is one of my all time favorite bands. This band has a very diverse discography with a lot of experimentation and is a popular band with the users on this website. It should be a very interesting bracket. Please be respectful of each other's opinions and let's have some fun! I welcome you to: A BRACKET TO END ALL BRACKETS: THE ANTHOLOGY OF THRICE. For those who are new to the concept, these are randomly generated brackets (no seeding!) where we go from album to album and put the songs from an album against each other. We vote on each matchups until we have a winner for each albums. Those songs will then face off in a Champions bracket to decide the best overall Thrice song! Same rules as the other brackets: Rules: 1. Voting will take place over 10-24 hour period, depending on how close the matches are (if there's a wide margin too far to beat, the round may be run ruled to not waste time). 2. You must vote on every match in a round. If you don't your other votes don't count. Just reply to this thread with your choices. I will not vote unless there is a tie needed to be broken. 3. Feel free to discuss why you chose one song over the other and why you like that song. It's what keeps these fun! 4. I avoid byes into rounds if I can, but sometimes it's necessary. These are randomly generated; I do not pick them. 5. Once your votes are counted, signified by me 'liking' your post, there are no vote changes. Choose wisely before posting! 6. The King John Rule: Only participate if you've heard these songs. You are welcome to look them up and listen before hand, but if there's evidence you haven't heard them before or you're just voting to help/hurt a song your votes will not count. And the most important rule of them all : Have fun and stay respectful of each other.
The bracket will start on Monday, but I am doing the thread now so we can take the weekend to start making predictions on which song might win and having some time to get more people in. We will start with Identity Crisis and work our way to TBEITBN, so we can see the whole evolution of the band. Also I made a different thread so it does not interfere with the upcoming tour discussion or announcements. Let's get the conversation started!
odd album title but i rly hope it sounds like Beggars and not like some Nickelback b-sides either way hyped af hoping 4 a early 2018 release
I’ve dabbled in the thrice before and love the last album but this’ll be my first deep dive. Quite excited.
You're in for a good time! My favorite albums are Vheissu, Beggars and To Be Everywhere is to Be Nowhere.
Yeasss. Continue to spread my wonderful Bracket minions. Soon this will be Brackets.fm! Muhahahahaha Hello, I want to play a game. Sometimes a band’s discography is so vast, it’s hard to decide what the best song is. Can you vote to decide what the best songs are? Some people are so ungrateful to listen to music....but not you, not anymore.”
I just remembered you said you would be taking a long break from running brackets after the MCR bracket, and now a few days later you're doing Jimmy Eat World haha.
I start the new job in a couple weeks and it has a no phone policy. So I’ll be doing less of these then. Figured I’d do one more.
I can't use my phone either at my job. I work in a restaurant so I'm always too busy to look at my phone. Congrats on the new job by the way!
In for this bracket too. Skipping Identity Crisis probably though. Have not listened to it ever really.
I think you will be pissed because it always seemed to be among the least popular M/M tracks (even though I like it)
I could see it winning for that album but I think the winner would likely come from Vheissu or Beggars Interested to see how it all plays out!
Yeah, it will probably be from those two albums. I think what's interesting with Thrice is that they don't really have a big single that will get more votes due to nostalgia or something. Well maaaayyybe All That's Left or Stare at the Sun (somehow I always forget that Artist in the Ambulance has never been a single.) Deadbolt will probably attract all the votes for Illusion though.
