Standard; much as I love Thrice, as long as I could secure a vinyl copy, I wasn't about to pay double to guarantee release date shipping.
Was talking to @dhayes in a PM and he said his variant that arrived yesterday from B&N is 140g. I'm going to assume the Amazon variant is the same, as the prices are exactly the same. Might be cancelling my Amazon order now. Was wanting an audiophile 180g black variant on top of my Limited Smoke.
Damn. If someone happened to buy an extra smoke variant, I would be forever grateful if you sold me a copy. Preorders for one of my favorite bands going up in the middle of the night isn't cool. Still bummed I missed it.
I read this post before the last one, and thought it was a stream on some weird site I never heard of called Of Consciousness haha
Still no movement on my order. Won't be listening to any pre-release day stream of the album, but if my LP is not here by Friday I'll settle for digital.
Good to know. I'm curious if @dhayes weighed his, or there was a sticker. So three variants so far is what it's looking like.
Hoodie+smoke vinyl isn't gonna be here until Tuesday COME OONNNNN. I've been reduced to a horse chomping at the bit for an extra 3 days, bummer. This stream needs to be up soon!
Nah I didn't weigh it. Just eyeballed it and it's thinner than most of my records. Is there some kind of special vinyl scale I'm not privy to?
When a 3rd party hosts a stream, be it NPR, Pandora or EW.com, does the 3rd party pay the band, knowing that their exclusive stream will draw more traffic to their site via the group's fans? Or, will the band pay the 3rd party so they can piggyback the 3rd party site's traffic? My band hit its stride right before streaming became a thing so I'm not familiar with this.
The download code couldn't be redeemed yet and I don't have the means to rip vinyl so I haven't got to spend any real time with it. I made it through most of side A before my wife got home and I mostly liked what I heard. The opening track rips. Still not crazy about Blood.
My order hasn't moved either, stuck at shipping label received. Still hoping I get this by Friday since I am only 2 hours away from where this ships out, but I paid for regular shipping.
I'm honestly just all around pretty shocked this hasn't even leaked yet, good for the band, that's awesome. 2 days from release though almost everything is leaked by now, even lesser known bands.
I feel like hardly anything leaks these days. Almost everything seems to make it to either release date (at least the day before when copies arrive early) or whenever they choose to stream it.
I believe there are people out there with this thing in their hands, that's why I'm surprised about it
I think that happens more than you'd expect. Most people's reaction to getting an album early isn't to put it on the internet.
