It's usually Kings Road and it takes me forever to get haha. But I'm 2 hours from where these are shipping from so I'm hoping I'll have it before Friday. *fingers crossed*
I've reached the point in my day that if they put the stream up, I won't be able to give it a listen until late tonight. Had my headphones ready too. Funny that I'm more capable of listening to music at work than I am when I'm home.
I really don't think they will put one up, maybe I'm pessimistic, but 3 days before release and it hasn't leaked, maybe they just want to keep this one as far as it goes.
I would imagine at some point today this will leak. Especially considering some people have already started getting their preorders in.
Thrice is a band for me that there's just no way I'm going to be satisfied with a crummy stream. I'm going to wait until I have the record in my hands, pop it in, and listen along at full volume with the liner notes. I feel old.
I mean, I probably won't be able to resist if it does, especially if it doesn't stream, but I agree with you. I still don't have a shipping confirmation for my preorder, but hopefully they release the digital files on time.
This was such an interesting read. I really appreciated the honesty. I am glad to hear that he is resolved to fighting harder for his ideas in the future. That should definitely help the band long term to have the members feel strong ownership over each record. I imagine this sentiment is extremely common in bands. But most people just don't ever reveal it in an interview setting haha. And the stuff about playing with his brother was so fantastic. Sounds like he truly appreciates and is grateful. Love it.
Safe to say there won't be a stream today. Probably not at all at this point. This is probably for the better, but I was really prepared to hear it today.
I don't see the point of their countdown if they're just going to stream it early (and that's why I think we won't be getting one). I wish I hadn't gotten my hopes up for one. Initially, I doubted we'd get one.
Ed's interview was an interesting read. I found the album to be pretty heavy. Maybe not in the in your face way he mentioned. The outro of Hurricane is absolutely brutal, same with The Window. And we've all heard the chorus of Death From Above by now, which is a total banger.
From what I've read/heard regarding this record, the album can be broken down into tiers as far as the most mentioned, favorited etc. Top Tier: Hurricane The Window The Long Defeat Salt and Shadow Middle Tier: Stay With Me Black Honey Death from Above Wake Up Bottom Tier: Seneca (just because of length/segue; it sounds beautiful) Whistleblower Blood on the Sand
