Trying to figure out which other Thrice song this reminds me of and it's The Arsonist, but only a little bit. Definitely has a lot in common with the Fire EP though.

Yeah after three listens this is definitely the best of the three we've gotten so far. Love the verses and the bridge, and that chorus is tight.

    It's the best for sure.

My least favorite of the three. I love pop rock Thrice cause I'm a loser.

Agreed that's the best song we've gotten so far. Way, way, way excited for this album.

Reminds me of old Thrice with the time signature changes. Also still could get some radio play, just like the other songs that are released. Can't wait for the album (or hopefully stream tomorrow?

    hmmm

Death From Above blows the other two songs out of the water IMO. Great stuff.

Death From Above rules. I've had the album for a few weeks now, and tonally as a whole it feels like Fire, Air and Beggars with some hints of Vheissu thrown in. Excited to see everyone's thoughts. My review is done, and will go up whenever a stream does.

Odd, I don't hear any Beggars in "Death from Above." I think there's more than just a hint of Vheissu as the bridge/outro has the hopeful "Red Sky" bridge/outro sound while remnants of "Like Moths To Flame" and "Weight of Glory" make their way in there.

Fire and Air are definitely well-represented with bits of "The Arsonist", "Backdraft" and "Broken Lungs."

I think @drewinseries is referring to the album as a whole drawing from those influences.

Hence, "as a whole." My reading comprehension is lacking amid all the excitement.

I was speaking as a whole, thank you @Kevin360. The album, to me, retains the groove and grit like Beggars has. I think Jason said it earlier, but I agree with saying it feels more like a growth from Beggars as it does M/M

No song released so far has really hit me like previous albums, so far.

I thought M/M was overall a disappointment too, with very high highs and very low lows (Words in the Water is in the top 5 songs they've ever done)

I like Dustin's voice when it's a little cleaner. He seems to be using shouty voice on every song, and it's already getting a bit old.

DFA is easily the best musically out of the 3 released so far, but maybe the weakest vocally in the chorus especially.

    Drew

There is a ballad like song on the where his vocals soar, and a few others where it is less gritty. Dustin's vocals are a real high point.

Kind of incredible seeing the differences of opinion between here and the Thrice thread. Holding out on listening to the new song to wait for the stream but if it's on Spotify, #yolo

    Edit: IT ISN'T YESSSSS
