I used to be really into Abolition, but that song has really fallen off for me over the years. I guess it's because I started getting into other songs from the album over time and Abolition fell behind. I'd be all about Hoods or Wax though.
Yes defo Hoods and Wax are both brilliant, would rather them do one of them than one of the more popular songs on it.
I'd be very okay with it if the only songs from TAITA on this tour are Silhouette, Stare At The Sun, the title track, and Hoods/Wax.
When I saw them they did those three + Under a Killing Moon which isn't bad but I agree would be happy with that. Assuming they come to the UK again haha
Hoods was played in 08 (TAI headliner with Circa support), as was Wax (Rise Against/Alk3/Gaslight tour)... so I wouldn't get too high of hopes for those if the "12 years" marker is accurate.
That album feels strange because it spawned two singles in All That's Left and State At The Sun, but then it also has two fan favorites in Silhouette and the title track. I can't imagine they's only play two of those four, so it must be tough to know that the obvious cuts take up a good chunk of how much they'd wanna play from the album. Next thing you know, they're playing five or six songs from it and it get represented in setlists more than any other album they have.
They've never done Between The End And Where We Lie according to setlist.fm...it's basically 12 years since Vheissu...am I clutching at straws...
Listening to Major/Minor right now and I don't understand a lot of the indifference this record gets, I think it's pretty damn great. Singing along to these songs is fun as heck.
The first time I watched the House of Blues DVD with this guy I used to be good friends with he noticed they played Stare At The Sun then Daedalus immediately after and he was like "That's so mean."
Usually they say track coming tomorrow when they play a clip, I don't think they will release this one.
I'm v. Excited for Hurricane because that has been my favorite clip so far, and I like how they have just been doing instrumentals of the songs like in the making of videos for the record. Would love to have an instrumental version of the record
I wasn't going to listen to Black Honey until the album came out, but I gave in since they released an actual non-lyric video for the song. The video is simple, but good. Spoiler alert: the song is ridiculously great.
I've held out this long. A video is crazy tempting but I've only listened to Blood on the Sand. I think I can make it another week......I hope I can at least. I just want to put on the record and take it all in as one cohesive experience.
Black Honey's grown on me but I still don't think it's that great tbh. It's a good song, as is Blood On The Sand, but nothing really exciting yet. Fully expecting the album to be better.
Saw a FB comment inquiring if Black Honey was an homage to Brand New and I actually thought this is possible lol. They said Dustin and Teppei were at a Brand New show when they text Riley about getting back together and in their post today say its one of the first ideas they jammed on. Maybe not intentional but still an interesting idea. p.s still have not heard the song lol. Waiting for May 27th. "The Weight" is killing me.
Not to be that guy but just once could we talk about Thrice without mentioning Brand New? EDIT: The video is cool and kind of creepy.
Thats weird, this would make the first time I've mentioned the two bands in the same sentence...also been some pretty good conversations going on the last few weeks here and Thrice thread with no mention of brand new. Not sure what the problem is.
