I believe Rey said he knew Mark from when he was on the Ana and we're friends. You may have known that, but it's a cool connection that Riley made via his podcast and a great walk up song because it's it catches your attention
Yeah I knew there was a connection there somewhere, just didn't know exactly where. Pretty cool though.
Trumbo's an Orange County kid. He's probably loved the band for some time. Riley and him definitely became friends when he was on the Angels.
In 2011, Riley heard that Trumbo was a Thrice fan so they connected via Twitter while Trumbo was still on Angels. This was right before Major/minor came out so Riley gave Mark an advanced copy of Major/minor. They became fast friends after that as Riley sat behind home plate a bunch until Mark was traded (sadly). They even jam music together sometimes as Mark plays guitar when he's not smashing baseballs.
The Fingerprints acoustic performance of Black Honey is cool because Ed is using an electric guitar to make string-like sounds. Seriously, Black Honey, as awesome as it is, would sound so incredible with an acoustic/string arrangement plus some epic drums, including drum mallets, a la... .
Wish someone would/could rip those two acoustic tracks they played during that interview I posted page or so back.
After taking a break from this album for a couple weeks and coming back to it, one of my favorite songs is now Wake Up, which is a song I never thought I'd really come to enjoy at all.
I remember them mentioning that 1 or 2 b-sides came out of the TBEITBN sessions. Have they followed up with any details about when/how they'll be released?
Someone should ask them, even if it's on Twitter or something. I thought it was just 1 song. In the old days bands used to release bsides like this on compilation albums or soundtracks.
I'm still shocked how much I like this album, easily my favorite material from them in a very long time
I can convince myself that this isn't "first pressing" anymore and be satisfied with the three variants I have.
