our crowd knew pretty much all of the new songs which was really cool. it shows how much fans care about this band..
Thrice and Underoath this year have returned and the crowds have been some of the most explosive, happy, sing-a-long filled that I've ever witnessed. And I think the crowds really increase the way both of those bands create a live experience. I'm just glad I got to witness it.
Did it seem like the crowd was louder during the newer songs overall than their older stuff? I swear, they went batty over Black Honey. Lost some hearing during that one. Only downside was a thoroughly meathead-infested pit, more than once there was a kid walking past us on the right side with blood on his face. They were shining the lights wayyy more often than at the Underoath show, seemed like there were some bad eggs looking to lay some hurt down every time we tried jumping in. Or, maybe I'm just too old now. Not enough br00tal anymore.
In order: 1. To What End 2. Where Idols Once Stood 3. Hoods On Peregrine 4. Between The End And Where We Lie 5. Open Water 6. Silver Wings 7. Talking Through Glass 8. Words In The Water 9. The Long Defeat
I posted a more general Thrice/setlist idea in their normal thread that I'd be interested to see most of you answer.
Ok. I am going to try my hand at this. In album order: 1. Ultra Blue 2. See You In the Shallows 3. Blood Clots and Black Holes 4. Music Box 5. The Messenger 6. The Sky Is Falling 7. At the last 8. Words in the Water 9. Whistleblower EDIT: Whoops. Forgot M/m. Fixed.
I probably would too! I could see even hardcore fans being a little upset though. It's not like Thrice comes to your town every other month so not hearing anything you expect at all may be a little disappointing, even if they go crazy with songs that are never played.
Picking songs I've never seen them play that I would want them to play. I've seen a lot of the other ones I'd want to see them play already: 1. T+C 2. Kill Me Quickly 3. The Melting Point of Wax or Hoods on Peregrine 4. Stand and Feel Your Worth 5. Digital Sea 6. A Song for Milly Michaelson 7. Doublespeak 8. Disarmed 9. Whistleblower
I know, I had to miss that tour too and I was so bummed. Love the covers album even more than Carry The Fire
1. Phoenix ignition 2. Trust 3. The abolition of men 4. Moths to flames 5. Burn the fleet 6. Broken lungs 7. Talking through glass 8. Disarmed 9. The long defeat
This is an interesting exercise, but at the moment I'd have to go with – Torch To End All Torches So Strange I Remember You The Melting Point of Wax Stand and Feel Your Worth The Arsonist Night Diving Daedalus The Earth Isn't Humming The Weight Promises The Window Edit: I picked from each Alchemy release, and yes I know "The Earth Isn't Humming" is a cover.
1. T&C 2. See you in the Shallows 3. Paper Tigers 4. Red Sky 5. The Whaler 6. Daedalus 7. Beggars 8. Disarmed 9. Hurricane
I'm listening to TBEItBN for the first time in a week and damn, this record is still a triumph. I think "The Window" is incredibly underrated despite people (such as myself) singing its praises since day one. I cannot wait to hear that jam live.
I can confirm this. Last night, the crowd kept singing it for so long that the band had to cut to the next song without notice right after our looped chant or else it probably would've gone on for the rest of the night. The crowd sang the sing along, without Dustin, for at least 4 rounds through.
The camera is too close for a decent sound mix but this live video of Hurricane in NYC (via Brooklyn Vegan) is worth watching:
Kind of surprised that you take the time to post in here every morning but gave the record a week off
Well, I listened to it so much the first two weeks that I didn't want to get burned out on it. Plus, a little bit of distance gives your ears some perspective. Also, I've still been watching live videos daily. So, there's that.
