So my friend and I bought tickets for Saturday in Central Jersey (we're from North Jersey) when they first went on sale and have been pumped since then. I just bought two more tickets spur of the moment at work for tonight's show in the city! I AM SO JUICED UP RIGHT NOW!!!
So, they played 'Beggars' last night. I don't think Dustin could've pulled it off *this well* two weeks ago. Yellow Belly continues to displace Anthology while Stay With Me continues to displace Treading Paper.
I would've loved to see them play Beggars Tuesday night.....but I'm more than happy with what they played.
I consider that shirt to be the blood relative of this shirt: http://cdn3.volusion.com/nghkt.mdstv/v/vspfiles/photos/THR-0203-2.jpg?1426670814
Awesome to see Beggars making its way in. I hope they play it on the 23rd. That's a top 3 Thrice song for me. One week away!!!
The band has done right by us as far as 'Deadbolt.' They've played it sooooooo many times. We've all heard it multiple times. I'm more concerned with hearing their deep cuts than the same hits over and over. When 'Wood and Wire' is making its DEBUT 7 years after it was released, that shows you how many great songs are still watching and waiting in the wings as far as being played in the live environment. Plus, we've still got 'The Window' and 'Whistleblower' to jam live. Also, I would love to hear more Illusion songs with Dustin's modern-day voice and the band's present sound (Beltsville and Strange especially). Their fall tour should revisit ANOTHER TIoS song in place of 'In Years To Come' via their encore.
I am so stoked to see them in Sept. Need to give the new album more love. I dig it a lot, but it hasn't made its permanent spot into my rotation and that needs to change this week. Also, "Deadbolt" blows IMO. I could never hear that song again in my life and be perfectly happy. They have such, such better material.
Yellow Belly needs to stay on! It sounds so good live and even though I love the set they are currently playing, they need more upbeat songs after having a lot softer ones in the middle. Yes! Where Idols Once Stood!!! The played it while touring Beggars and then last year when they got back together and did some one offs and festivals. That ending is amazing live.
yes, that is one song they retired too early. I believe they only played it during the early run of beggars touring.
i was a fan of the setlist we got at riot fest, a good span of their career Thrice Setlist at Riot Fest Chicago 2015
listening to artist songs live, I would pay good money for them to rerecord that record.. pull a kevin devine!
My favorite actually is their first show back. Those opening tracks would have had me so pumped! Thrice Setlist at House of Blues, Anaheim Agreed. It's incredible.
