Not that I really like talking about them after the allegations, but has anyone else noticed that the melody in the verses of The Dark sounds very similar to the verses of Waste by Brand New?
I'm strongly considering buying tickets for the Boston show, I've never seen them before and would love to. But yeah, saving money is always nice too heh
When I give a listen to it in a week or so, I’ll let you know if I hear it. Waste is superb. I’ll just message you about it though, as to not upset anyone.
Truly amazing we still continue to bring up that band after so many have said how uncomfortable it makes them
Yeah, in an ideal world, I’d love for no one to ever mention them again... but a year ago they were probably the most iconic band in this entire niche of music, and were used as a reference point for countless other bands. Like I said, I’d love if they were never mentioned again, and can certainly understand why seeing them mentioned is upsetting and even triggering to people... but I think it’s a bit unrealistic to expect NO ONE to ever mention them again. It’s going to happen unfortunately.
I’m expecting a lot out of palms. Mostly lyrically I dont always agree with what Dustin has to say but I love the way he writes.
My bad. I just don’t think we should have the argument again Let’s keep the focus on thrice putting out what I anticipate will be at worst a very good record.
Just saw this one, it’s a track-by-track which I usually don’t care for much, but gives some nice descriptions of each track. Review: Thrice - Palms - Overdrive Music Magazine
I still wonder if we’ll get “The Dark” studio version as the final single before the album drops... maybe this week?
Since I missed this discussion over the weekend, Trapt was the realest shit to 13 year old swboyd. Headstrong and Still Frame are still go to karaoke songs for me when I have the displeasure in being in that type of environment. But yeah, Palms should be rad.
