This thread was on that 3 days ago. We're quicker than Thrice's feed! Teppei delivered that "heavy" rant almost exactly the way he did circa 'Beggars.' He felt the ending of 'Beggars' was as "heavy" as anything they've ever done.
My main thought last time I listened to the album was that I'd been sleeping on Hoods for years. That song is such a fucking jam.
I didn't click with Thrice very much until Beggars and I didn't become obsessed until TBEITBN. That said, I really need to find a copy of Vheissu. Right up there with stuff like Relationship of Command and The Shape of Punk to Come as one of the best posthardcore albums of all time
I have multiple copies of it too, the original and the repress, the only original for Thrice vinyl I am missing is Vheissu, should really check ebay for one of those.
I initially read this as you copy/pasting Jason's thoughts from the supporter first listen thread lol
I just ordered a copy a few months ago. Opened it and immediately dropped it onto the corner of a chair directly on its spine. Now it has a huge crease across the front. Still happy to have it, though.
I get real emotional over artist still. I was years late but still only 16 when I heard it. Blew me away then and blows me away now. The mix of super catchy metalcore riffs and sturdy alt rock songwriting holds up so well. They were always destined for great things even among their peers at the time.
