Disarmed is my favourite closer by them. the line it gets its title from is one of the few M/M moments that gave me genuine chills
anyone else still hear "you are listening to a vagrant records advanced promotional stream" in your head during some parts of Beggars?
no bc I was a good person and didn't listen to that shitty leak I definitely did listen to it haha this was a joke
I've made two bad jokes in here over the last 2 days.. crickets both times.. I retire from joking in this thread
Don't Tell and We Won't Ask is probably my favorite album closer. *shrug hands and prepares for the oncoming tomato deluge*
There’s honestly been some great takes on this last page and I love you all for it Daedalus, Disarmed, The Whaler and Melting Point Of Wax are all top ten Thrice songs for me. Circles, For Miles, and Hurricane would love to join the discussion too
I cannot explain it because my go to music isn't usually church processional type of songs, but I've always loved Child of Dust. Red Sky will probably always be their best though. All closers rule though. My least fav is probably Salt and Shadow.
beggars and red sky are tied for second in my book...there's just something about don't tell and we won't ask that does it for me. it's a top 5 thrice song in my book. i wish they'd play it more live along with some of the other deeper cuts from artist, but beggars can't be choosers. ...that pun was unintentional as I typed it.
I think I remember reading somewhere that it's one of their favorites from Artist and it sounded so good on their Live at the House of Blues album. I do wish that made it in the set more.
It’s interesting to me that people find M/M so heavy-handed with the biblical stuff. “Image of the Invisible,” “For Miles,” “Like Moths to Flame,” “Of Dust and Nations,” “In Exile,” “Wood & Wire,” “Come All Ye Weary,” and “Moving Mountains” are all pretty explicit to name a few. “Listen Through Me” is definitely the most obvious, but not by a big margin.
yea its always been there but I think listen through me is just too on the nose for some people.. like.. the other ones were for vague and could be open to interpretation
