Seether are one of the few bands that do that kind of post-grunge/alt metal style well. They've become hit or miss in recent years though. I have fond memories of their first few albums, especially Finding Beauty In Negative Spaces which I revisit every year.

They lost me afterwards, and I find their newer releases a bit one note... like the songwriting feels so uninspired and tired. In a somewhat similar lane, at least 10 Years and Chevelle remained consistent.

seems like they have a concept idea but it isn’t fully formed enough for this album. i might have misheard that part a bit, the producer was kinda talking over.

 

I want high concept non sense.
go heavy. Go soft. Go more radioheady time signatures. Mix up the song structures.

Or do whatever you want.
I’m gonna like it.

 

It's cool to anticipate new music from a band and pretty much know you'll be on board either way. They seem to like to nail the straightforward alt rock album, but I'm also here for something unexpected

 

Also on board. I think their singles may embrace that rock sound, but there’s been a lot of experimentation in their music since Vheissu. Plus Alchemy Index was one of the most creative things I can think of in music.
