I will say I’m still incredibly jealous of my buddy who went by himself to the SF date of the Vheissu tour. Such a stacked bill
I saw them at the Pittsburgh stop of the Vheissu tour and hearing it all live just really solidified its status as one of the best post hardcore albums of all time.
I mean you joke, but i've been jamming TAITA lately and that album is really anti-capitalist. Its a theme of like half the songs on the album.
One thing I've always appreciated about these guys is the way they're able to match the lyrics to the feel of the song (or vice versa), and Just Breathe is a perfect example. You have the frantic bass line running through the verse which matches the feelings of anxiety and pressure that the lyrics in the verse are conveying. It's hard to just breathe and stay in the moment during the chorus because of how busy it is and the off kilter rhythm, but by the end of the song all the music and noise fades away and you're able to really feel those words. Cool stuff. Hit me with a concept album next Dustin and company!
Doesn’t mean they can’t be writing. All four members contribute musically so I hope they’ve been working on musics stuff as well as balancing life and other projects.
And on Youtube! Raiders - The Earth Will Shake (0:08) The Hara - Between The End And Where We Lie (4:38) Ithaca - Hold Fast Hope (8:36) The Virginmarys - Music Box (12:46) Chapter and Verse - Red Sky (16:52) Panic Shack - Image Of The Invisible (20:45)
I recently stumbled upon the Seether cover of Black Honey for the first time and I thought it was absolutely phenomenal and I wanted to see what this thread had to say about it.... little did I know that there’s a running joke about Seether in this thread. Catching up a little bit on it was fun. I used to really hate on Seether, but the last couple months I’ve kinda revisited them and I really enjoy what I’m hearing. The opener on their new album is really cool, and they seem to have a few songs on each release that I get into. overall, what a sick cover, and now I’m gonna have to listen to Thrice all this week.
I never understood the hatred towards Seether, I know they are on the edge of the softer side of the rock genre sometimes but they do have some bangers on each records. Personally FBiNS is still one of my favorite record to date. Although I have to admit that their last couple of records do somewhat sound the same, they are not really exploring other type of genres or experiment with their sound. But nonetheless I still like them in spite of their flaws.
