sure. just please stop with the gatekeeping and invalidating other opinions because you’ve been listening longer or “know how the band feels”
Please stop invalidating threads until you actually contribute something. Also, stop putting words in my mouth.
I like Palms. Hold Up A Light, too, for what it is. I still go back to TBEITBN more, but I trust and respect this band to do what they want to do, both on an artistic level and a business level. these guys have been doing this long enough to not agree to deals they don’t want to do, so if epitaph “made them” put Light on the record over one of these EP songs, I trust that the band also agreed it was the right thing to do. is that contribution?
(I stayed away from this thread for ~150 pages because I got tired of reading @Mike J posts back to back with posts by users who had him blocked and couldn’t deal with the incongruence, and don’t want to have to use the block feature. but I peeked back in because of the deeper wells talk. guess I should dip back out since I don’t contribute.)
I’d argue that we can express that one user’s long-running history of seemingly trying to speak for/alongside the band is incredibly annoying while also lamenting the fact that there are more pertinent issues plaguing the music industry.
i was thinking more along the lines of "mike j is not a real person. tina holstrom is not a real person"... but hey, i guess your post works too
I personally disagree but I cannot say that is incorrect. Both have sweet pianos and killer heavy endings.
The band as a whole and their entire discography? If I had to pick....I'd probably take that over 4 Thrice songs.
What’s very cool is that it is still the same four guys that make up Thrice and were a part of all of these songs. No one has left for creative differences. No ones been kicked out for being difficult or a trouble maker. No one decided not to return following the hiatus. It’s ok to like one song more than another. Lots of good reasons to pick many of them as your favourite.
