The vinyl I ordered off eBay came today, was nervous I was gonna open it and see Palms instead, thanks for coming through eBay person and not putting your price for it ridiculously high.

 

Wake Up > Black Honey

Totally. I'm not a fan of either the riff or the lyrics in BH. Wake Up, on the other hand, is a jam and a half.

 

My friend calls it the "Honey on the table" song. How can you not love those sweet, sweet lyrics!?

 

They're dumb? The metaphor is so strained the song should be called "Greek Yogurt".

It's at least on par with the lyrics of Black Honey.

 

But what about that bridge build up? Song is overplayed but that part always draws me back in.

 

It's pretty standard, I don't really find it remarkable.

To be clear I don't actually think BH is a bad song, but the amount of love that one gets versus the amount of hate that Wake Up gets is nonsensical.

 

Love for Black Honey aside, Wake Up is the only song in their discography that I don't like and skip

 

Wake up is my least favourite from TBE, but I don’t skip it. I just don’t seek it out.

 

I find this completely shocking.

 

Granted, when I think about Thrice's discography, I don't ever include First Impressions or Identity Crisis. I'm sure I like Wake Up over most of those songs. From Illusion and onward though I like every single song, even the B-Sides, besides Wake Up.

 

If you want to get this thread raging, we should rank our bottom 5 songs......

Just those 5 songs. The other 6 are very good to great, though Anthology doesn't really fit on the album.
