I’m not going to play the guessing game. Just trying to understand the critique position based on what he’s been a part of writing or playing. As someone else mentioned, 4 weeks of radio play is more than most people get. If Mike’s band is well known, how did they go about choosing a single and what advice would he give Thrice? He and I have both stated Beyond ThenLines Pines is our favourite off the album, but does it really represent the album commercially to a new listener. Mike, if you have a position of experience, please share.
The thread has been fine for a bit. We've all been talking music pretty calmly. I think people just need to learn to ignore opinions that annoy you and move on.
Only thing I can think of is that Notre Dame is burning at the moment the questioning of "holy hell", but I may be off base in that posters assumption
There have been so many better times in this thread to use that line. The visual though is pretty effective.
I really don’t mind people ripping on Florida because it honestly deserves to get made fun of for all the whacky shit news that comes from here. But also because I know it’s actually pretty great here and I’m not bothered by the shade anymore.
I will never stop shitting on Florida for its bad luck in attracting certain artists and bands to come down. Still waiting on St Vincent and Hop Along to come back after what seems like a very long time.
Eh, at least you're not non-Toronto Canada. Every North American tour is basically US cities + Toronto.
For clarity I didn't say that because of your posts. I'm just saying in general on why this thread goes to shit a good amount of times. Every one piles onto someone they don't agree with and it just cycles. If it was ignored and moved on the thread would go much smoother. At some point someone just has to give even if there is no agreement.
Ohhh! I need to give that album a listen. Someone on this site got me to listen to Doomsday forever ago and I liked it.
Upon a second listen, I get why they ordered it the way they did. - Deeper Wells is the worst track of the four. - Stumbling West is the best of the four. - Better Bridge grew on me. - Still believe In This Storm would be the best track to transition into Beyond the Pines. Definitely more appropriate than Blood on Blood.
