The only song we have most of the lyrics for is my least favorite on here. Not a huge fan of In the Storm.

 

I love in the storm

 

I’ve only been able to spin it once, and it’ll probably stay that way for a while. It’s rare I have time to listen to my records these days. Was a miracle I could pull off 30 minutes today.

Don’t know how this will grow on me.

It's Thrice 2.0's least successful single.

 

Where did Only Us place? It’s omitted from the list.

Well many fans, including yourself, didn’t get behind the “Hold Up a Light” single. I mean, we all know Thrice is an album band. I still like the song, and I get why they/Epitaph would pick something like it.

There isn’t really one song that sums up Palms though.

 

Wouldn't most bands kill for 4 weeks on a chart?

Same, I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. If it had a digital card I'd be jamming this all day.

 

Well no, I was just expanding on your nit pick on how long it charted for. It charted.

 

Initial thoughts on Deeper Wells:

- Don’t think the title track is as good as anything that was on Palms.
- A Better Bridge gives off major Stay With Me vibes in the best way.
- In This Storm could’ve been a good transition into Beyond the Pines. Reminds me of Circles in some ways.
- Stumbling West is, as some people have said, the best track.

 

Did you tell the band that?haha. I haven’t heard any of the new songs, but I dont need to, to wish it had been a 14 track album. Now (or in 60 days) when all Palms related songs are released people can refine the track list if they want to for their listening preference.

Thrice has never excelled in having radio hits and at this point we can’t assume they will. As long as they continue to make amazing albums that’s perfect by me. I don’t listen to the radio, and really few music videos actually impress me at this point (wish labels and bands could afford to put in the effort they used to).

I want to hear Deeper Wells, and I’m glad to hear you and so many other like the release.

As someone who hasn’t listened to the radio in 10+ years. I have no clue what the value of having a radio single is.

I’m assuming at this point it’s the hope that it drives more people to their shows, where I assume they make the majority of their money.

Gonna go to one more store tmrw and see if I get lucky with this and the menzingers release.

 

Good luck. These are the two releases that I want to hear. Haven’t heard any Menzingers feedback yet, but since these tracks were recorded during After The Party they must be really good.

 

Once again, TEPPOW slays Better Bridge.

 

Now that I've had some serious time with it, the chorus of Deeper Wells also sounds like a Manson chorus. The vocal turn coming out of the chorus still sounds like Messenger, as well as classic Thrice in a broader sense.

 

I’d like if you expanded on this thought?

 

How has this not hit the web yet somehow? Not even on youtube. I want to hear it...

 

It's out there, guys. Check other places where people talk about the greatest band alive.

 

Yeah, Better Bridge is my favorite upon further reflection. It represents Thrice 2.0's sound in a nutshell, not that 'Hold Up a Light' trash.
