I just think M/M hits harder. Beggars had like only 3 upbeat songs. I love it all, but M/M's style was much needed after Earth and Beggars.
I don't think you need to do that. I mean, if I understood correctly, the point of your post was just that was the album/rollout that made you realize the beneficial effect of hearing an album in its entirety for the first time, with no pre-conceived notions of what it might sound like based on having listened to any pre-release singles. Nothing the band, or any member of it did, however heinous, can take away that personal experience for you. So, in your case, there couldn't have been a better example of what you were describing because this was your actual experience. That's not to say that @sophos34 was wrong either, though, and we all need to understand that the mere mention of abusers can have serious adverse effects on people. The intention isn't to cause anyone harm, but we can all do better to think about what we're saying and either use a different example, if possible, or maybe obfuscate the name and/or post trigger warnings when they're mentioned.
i got slapped with a "you're being too sensitive" and people are surprised i got upset and are supporting the person who said that. nice.
Back to the album, anyone think this album has a chance to be their best album yet? How crazy would that be after how much music they’ve released.
I do feel that the whole thing could have been avoided by a simple PM to @Kevin360 maybe something like "could you delete your post and please don't mention that band on the website anymore, its really triggering to me and others" would have fixed the issue on all fronts instead of a call out post, which is what it felt like.
I wouldn't be that surprised since TBEITBN is near the top for me. It'll take a lot to beat Vheissu for me though.
I personally like the style of Artist/Vheissu/TAI the most and don't think that stretch will ever be beat or nor will they ever go back to any of those styles, so I don't think this will be their best yet for me. That being said, I am so incredibly happy that my favorite band is still putting out great stuff when a lot of my other favs are starting to putter out.
anyone who tells someone theyre being too sensitive when it comes to a topic like this is wrong, yeah
It's all a matter of opinion honestly. To be upset by the situation, I understand. To sit here and showboat and say that it makes you physically ill to read two words is comical to me. Mind you, that's my opinion and that doesn't make me right or wrong. That's the beauty of opinions. I wasn't rude to you or disrespectful at all, you took that road. Remember that.
Is there anyone else in this thread that has The Artist in the Ambulance as their favorite Thrice album or am I alone?
