Metallica is (one of) his favorite bands. He was just making a harmless joke about the fact that they had long hair (like a lot of women do) and could have been mistaken for women (like a lot of people do when they see a boy with long hair). It was just a joke about a band he loves in response to Mike's comment. But then I realize that a lot of people have blocked Mike J so might not have seen his comment. His comment was: Aside from Thrice, today's best rock music is made by women and it's not even close.
ohhh, it was about that? Since it was posted after my Star Wars gif I figured it was about that. But yeah, Metallica is one of the best bands still going, like them or not it's hard to argue. It might not of even been funny, but that's all my joke was to Mike's post lol. This thread takes everything so seriously....
It's 2AM and I can't sleep. I really hope "Hold Up a Light" disappears from the live setting by the next record. I can't handle the thought of it getting more set love than "The Window."
I've never sought out anything for RSD but I'll try for this one. The only stores near me that are showing participating are Slackers though.....so we'll see. Really? I feel like it makes the song for me live and puts the live version over the record version. Why not both?
I’m sure they've got a record store you could make a pit stop into. then you can just give the DJ the record to play for the reception.
I should clarify that buying a copy on eBay will be because none of the record stores in my area will carry it. I've called around and have gotten "What's Thrice?" from each store.
I wouldn’t say that’s necessarily indicative that they won’t have it. I asked a local shop if they had any S. Carey records and they looked confused, but a few weeks later I picked up his split with Low for RSD.
Despite the large release, I’m still going to wait outside Rough Trade at 8 am like a crazy person. Need Thrice and Julien Baker releases.
Preview sounds great. Not expecting to get a copy on RSD, so hoping these will be available digitally at some point.
