Billionaires don't go broke overnight, especially via fraud that would've been fixed by the time Bruce escaped months later. If you needed a 3-second scene where Bruce jumps onto a cargo plane, then you're watching movies wrong.
I'm mainly just bitter about the time you popped into this thread to condemn Palms. I had never seen you post in this thread until that point. Generally speaking, and this is no knock on Henry, my life has become exponentially better once I stopped shredding things online. Creatives should never rip other creatives' work in ink. If I really don't like something, I tend to say nothing until I find something else that I do like.
Lol you literally come in here to shred bands that you don't think are as good as Thrice all the time.
That is not even close to it's biggest problem, but since you brought it up I remember lol-ing in the theater when Bruce and Talia are at Wayne Manor and his power goes out. There's no way he could have even gotten a bill at that point lol.
Honestly, I've given the album about a dozen listens and I think it stinks. I've been listening since Illusion, have a Thrice tattoo, and have seen them around 30 times. They're a band I hold near and dear to my heart. I just think the direction they went with this record is exhausting and over done. Have I given up on them? No way. I'm still going to go out of my way to see them and proudly sing along to most of their discography. I don't go out of my way to air my distaste for the album on the regular because too many people do that shit and its fruitless. As a fan of the band, I'll give my two cents and be on my way. Having to come into a thread a to break up fights and whatnot is my job here, so I'm going to do what I have to in accordance with the site guidelines set up by Jason. I'm sorry if it comes off condescending or one-sided, but that's why the role exists. I'm always quick to ask other mods and the big dog before over reaching. I really just wish it weren't always this thread and the same people stirring up drama for no reason. Save that for reddit.
I saw Thrice a few months ago in Denver, maybe late last year. The way Dustin sang Beyond the Pines reminded me of all the best parts of being in church before I lost my faith in it. I felt like I melted into the crowd. Had almost forgot that music could make me feel like that. Great band.
Of course not, but does that make the movie bad? You can poke holes in any great movie if you try hard enough. That movie has so much good in it such as Alfred crying in the graveyard.
And it mainly applies to far-reaching social media platforms, versus an insulated message board and Thrice thread. I won't go on tirades while tagging band members or antagonizing their fans.
Which makes the pay off that Bruce was just trolling Alfred so mean spirited. If you had to bury your son, are you really just going to give a nice head nod if you find out he was just faking his death? Or would you freak out? This is not poking holes, it's just poorly written.
But he gave Alfred what he ultimately wanted. He had to fake both Bruce and Batman's deaths in order to achieve Alfred's dream for him. Since Alfred bailed and Bruce was busy beating Bane, he didn't exactly have a chance to give Alfred a head's up. Bruce put his exit plan in place, but he didn't know when he'd be able to use it. The bomb malfunction presented a spur-of-the-moment opportunity for him to save the city and himself in the process (by faking his death). There was literally no time to tell Alfred in the 30 seconds he had to flee the city with the bomb.
I appreciate the long response but you don't need to go all into detail, trust me I got what they were going for. A post card could have been all he had to send, instead of going and waiting at a cafe every day waiting to see when and if Alfred was going to show up. The more you think about it, the more absurd it is. We can continue this in DMs though so we can get back to Seether and Deeper Well talk.
No, you might as well just keep it going. It’s better than 90% of the conversations we’ve seen in here.
Haha. You’re allowed to not like those movies. I’m not worried about it. Much love from me. I was just being silly.
Although I would have rathered Palms be 14 songs long instead of 10, I am excited that we have some new Thrice coming soon. We all win.
