Mike is it possible that these are 5 songs written for long time fans. Maybe a bit more experimental? Maybe a bit less radio rock?? Is that a possibility?? Hmmm
I don’t find Palms to be radio rock. I get that hold up a light is probably not a complex song, and they do have a wide fan base to please. I can however imagine Dustin playing it acoustic and not feeling radio rocky. I listened to Palms two days ago, and still really just feel like it could have been longer more than anything....and these new songs will eliminate my only knock against the album.
im just saying, maybe these 5 songs will be really cool and experimental and be more of that sound we heard them talk about prior to palms being released. if the 5 songs have their own identity than they are not B sides.
Track listing: 1. Deeper Wells -2:52 , 2. A Better Bridge- 4:27 , 3. In This Storm -4:54 , 4. Stumbling West - 4:46 I can't verify this, someone posted it on instagram tho
As a RSD noob, does anyone have an idea of how many/which stores get copies? The closest legit record store is probably 40 minutes away from me, which I will gladly drive to for Thrice, but I'm worried they might not have it/sell out of it before I can get there
Some of my favourite songs by bands have been b-sides. Flags of Dawn is a great Thrice b-side. They experimented on Palms, so I could see one or two of these songs having something totally different them. Sea Change was different from TBEITBN, but maybe shared more in common with the Water EP.
This is awesome! I'm sure they'll release these digitally as well. For RSD releases this large, Amoeba/SRC/Bull Moose usually throw a bunch online, so it shouldn't be a problem.
I don’t even know if it’s just that. They really were DIY, and didn’t have other bands or a label out there pushing them. It felt like they focused on making good music and producing the records instead of trying to sell themselves and get popular. I’m really ok with that, but I’m sure it’s hard to draw new fans.
