And they are all back starting shit. Like yes that user was blocked for starting the same issue. Also, I’ll admit a lot of the time I am wrong with my arguments.. this time.. nah that user was attacked for literally no reason by someone who has been banned from these forums and found a way back on, I’m going to try my best to stand up for that person 100 percent every time.
Continue your name calling all you want but you don't know a single fucking thing about me. On that note have a nice day eh
hate to be attacked by *checks note card* being educated on how glossing over non-male artist contributions reinforce the marginalization and absence of platforms non-male artists continue to receive in the industry
It was such a vague list tho!! There was nothing glossing over about it. How can you really make that connection? All they did was make a list of things thrice did differently on their new album. If he wanted to help couldn’t he just quote the person and say I agree with your list, Emma Ruth Rundle did a great job on the record. Not sure if you knew her name? Or something along those lines.. why did .k have to feel like he was sexist for that? Just doesn’t make sense to me.
Teebs, as someone in a band shouldn't you know how insanely important for your band to be known to as many people as possible in order to continue being successful and making a living from your artistic output? If you played a show and then someone wrote about the show review in a local paper, that local talent booking agents and potential concert attendees and fans read, and just referred to y'all as "the opening act" without mentioning your band name wouldn't that be a problem for you? It matters.
Those are such false equivalencys tho... like a publication and a post in a forum are very different things. If it was an article they wrote about it then yes I’d be upset that she wasn’t mentioned by name. This is someone making a general list of what thrice did differently on a new album. Not writing a review. I agree with you if there was a review or professional write up, I’d be very disappointed in that publication.
1. Do not talk to Ken like that. 2. I'll pay the $3 for you to change your username because no one as shitty as you deserves to rep La Dispute like you are.
Everyone who is responding to these users who came out of the woodwork to attack and fight a unnecessary battle, please just stop responding. They will go away if you do. It's very simple. None of them were actually in discussion of the band and just came to bash. Once Thrice talk continues, they will go away.
Posts like this are conescending, unnecessary, and along with name-calling, are no longer going to be tolerated in this thread. Something has to change. Unfortunately, I have to leave for work in half an hour, so I don't have a solution right now, but these arguments continue happening between the same people over the same disagreements and neither side is handling it well. I know Jason has put a lot of effort into solving disputes like this in the past, but like I said, I'd need more time to look into what is actually happening before I start suggesting any fixes. Until then -- and I can't stress enough from personal experience -- the block button is your friend.
I try to be as civil as possible in these arguments. people are going to disagree on thigns, its an online forum, name calling isn't a great road to take. I am sorry if I offended anyone today, I just found it really hard to believe that someone got called out for making a vague list of things and not getting specific about one thing on that list. to me that creates a culture where you can't really be yourself or have a personality, if you post one thing that can possibly be taken the wrong way you are called out for it. I think people need to learn to have some benefit of the doubt. that seems to go out the window, it happens against me all the time and when I see it happen to others I get even more upset. I'm perfectly fine with some of you blocking me, i know we don't get along and probably never will, it is what it is.
No rock to crawl from, I'll be here to tell you this album sucks any time of the week. Oh man look at this sick burn shit I'm hurt from that one. How dare I post on Chorus again and try to continue to raise concerns about issues I believe it. how noble of you
It’s a great way to discover new artists, for sure. I had it on repeat a work when it came out and it "clicked" after a while, as music often does. Anyway, truth is that I read through the whole thread this morning. The only reason I went back and responded to your original post was to see if it was, you know, at all possible to respond to you in a way that 1) promoted women in rock music, and 2) respectfully gave you the benefit of the doubt Based on the cordial way you responded to my post, it seems it is possible to accomplish both. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
There's a darkness that is brighter than our light There's a danger, love, to holding on so tight I'm finally seeing I've been seeing this all wrong I'm finally seeing now that everything belongs Yeah, everything belongs Everything belongs There's a shadow that believes in fits and starts And it's the paradox that feeds the famished heart I'm finally seeing how the spaces make the song I'm finally seeing now that everything belongs Yeah, everything belongs Everything belongs There's a web and every thread ties you to me And we are here and now, the future's yet to be I'm finally seeing that our weakness makes us strong And everything belongs Everything belongs Everything belongs
The experience of hearing this for the first time was so amazing. So glad I listen to all new music in my car for my first listen. Pines gave me that feeling too. Great album!
