But what is your wife's name? She has a name.

Love y'all doubling down on being shitty instead of being decent and having a conversation about things

I shouldn't be surprised at this point but here I am

And these are the same people who insist that I’m the shitty guy trying to start fights, right? The ignorance is truly remarkable

This is insane, the user was listing things the band did differently on this album... they were not being offensive at all. This should be a non discussion...

This is one of the strangest arguments I’ve seen on the site

You say it should be a non-discussion, but you decided to joke about it like an ass anyway. Given your history and my interactions with you over the years, that’s not insane at all. It was pretty in line with what I expect from you at this point

Do you think maybe the way you reacted was a little unnecessary? I mean the post was broadly speaking about the album. There have been tons of times in the thread where Emma has been mentioned. It honestly just comes off as forced virtue signaling tbh.

I understand wanting to get an artist you dig out there and not known as the "guest vocalist" but I really don't think that is how any of this was meant to be.

I gave one song by her a listen
I gave one song by her a listen. It didn’t click. She has a nice voice. Plans had just come out, so I went back to that. Maybe in time. When their is a lull between albums I’m interested in I usually look for new artists going deeper into bands back catalogues. Maybe I will in time. I always do enjoy when opposite vocalists do songs together.

I reacted just fine until the poster started dismissing me and dumping on me while talking to others on here. Why y’all are trying to paint me as the bad guy here as if that poster didn’t handle this discourse well at all is incredibly confusing.

I’m not gonna apologize for calling them a dolt considering they kept putting words in my mouth and framing me in a negative light. Fuck outta here with that bullshit

Thanks Teebs. There’s strange call out culture that I don’t always understand. I was being complimentary to a band, their hard work, and silliness to experiment and include.

Please don’t name call Teebs. I’ve had lots of great and informative conversation about this and other bands we both love.

This calling people an ass, and a dolt, and so on stuff isn’t necessary.

I still don’t understand why out of nowhere you tried to confront me over something non existent, and proceeded to do so without expecting me to respond.

It’s a discussion thread, and we were discussing in a pleasent and civil manner. This has become so side tracked.

exactly.. its call out culture. we shouldn't feel like we are walking on eggshells on this website.. like that isnt fun for anyone. If someone says something truly offensive then it makes sense. this makes ZERO sense to me lol

A lot of people feel this way, you’d be surprised. And this is a perfect example, someone says something completely innocent and gets called out for it.

Yeah really unfortunate that it's come to this. I completely understand why so many users have had enough of this site and have decided to leave for good. It's just become a toxic and unwelcomimg place

I was being civil about everything until you started speaking dismissively about me towards other people. How is that such a difficult concept for you to comprehend? I’ve said it multiple times

The response felt certainly targeted to expose some sort of sexism by not specifically crediting Emma, that feels kind of call out-ey to me.

It is a very unwelcoming place when a bunch of dudes on this site are afraid of “call out culture” because they don’t want to accept the fact they’ve gone about something incorrectly or something they’ve said could have been said better. If people like you and others in this thread want to shut down a conversation about positively promoting women in rock music then you you are creating an unwelcoming place. If you can’t understand how or why, then I’m done with this conversation because I’m tired of talking to a bunch of brick walls

Funny thing is we are all on the same page with most of this stuf. Benefit of the doubt gets thrown completely out of window.
