Think we will get an ep this year then?

 

I feel like Palms goes by way too quickly. Unless the songs are bad (doubtful) I wish we would have gotten a long album instead.

Sure sounds like you think the song would be better and more energetic if it was faster, but idk maybe I’ve forgotten how to read all of a sudden

 

It seems like you did. Both things can be true and not relate to one another, it's not hard to understand and I am not sure how else to explain it to you. I never said the song needs to be faster so it could be more energetic, which is what you're getting from it, that's your insinuation.

I had said “simpletons” for all of 20 seconds before I thought someone would be up in arms about it and I’m not trying to start shit. With that said, I’m not talking about this BPM shit anymore. Honest answer, it's the way people approach others in condescending ways instead of trying to start a discussion.

 

Is this because I called you a goof and thought talking about raising the BPM of a song we have no control over is dumb? Because I and others were having a pleasant discussion of key heavy moments in the band’s discography and people still seem hung up on the goof/BPM thing

 

If you want to have a discussion, then stop talking about me without mentioning me and start talking about something else. This is honestly getting ridiculous. That’s why I said if you/someone has a problem with me, then you/they can DM because this is getting irritating to keep coming back to and I’m sure it’s irritating others as well

They don't seem to be the kind of band to do this, but if Thrice put out a cover album someday it'd be interesting.

I posted this in the FF thread, but I recently played 6 for the first time and lost my damn mind when I was able to play as one (only played 7 and forward prior where they are just background characters).

 

Dustin's live cover album from 2 years ago is incredible. Thrice has covered songs in the past like Helter Skelter and Elanor Rigby so it's not a completely foreign concept. I'd love a If Only We Could See Us Now type release from them this year. Palms B sides, a cover or 2, and an alternative version of a song.

And I'd love that too, esp if it came with a DVD documentary like the other one!

 

They're so good at rearranging their songs whether its acoustic, stripped down, or just a different take on it. Those AOL sessions from Vheissu, the daytrotter Beggars era songs, live renditions of a song for milly, and any acoustic version they do is executed so well. Even that so strange I remember you alt version from 15 years ago is awesome.

There are YouTube videos of amazing versions acoustic songs that are in terrible quality. I wish those had an official release so they'd sound good.

Say what you will about M/M, their acoustic B-Sides they put out for that album are so nice.

Anthology acoustic is my favorite version of the song.

 

I like M/m and its grown on me a ton over the years but I was disappointed when it was released. I was hoping for a progression of the alchemy and beggars sound and still wish they continued in that direction. More electronic elements, varied song structure and lengths, different instruments featured, ect. It seemed like they just wrote an alternative rock album which is fine, but they could have went in a completely different style and I believe they would have benefited.
