Looked at a few videos of them on IG and DK looks a tad uncomfortable last night...maybe just first show things, or it’s just me but I don’t know.
Listening to TBEITBN on the train to work just now and Wake Up comes on. I look out the window (pardon the pun) and spot a hotel called Wake Up lol
More To Be Everywhere songs than I would have thought surprised they got 11 song set too. Not surprised they didn't get a good response from the bring me the horizon crowd. Bummer.
I love how they played Dust and Whistle back to back considering they're reminiscent of each other. I'm still waiting for some video to drop.
Yeah, unfortunately music fans are super dismissive and hyperbolic but if the roles were reversed it'd be the same situation. I would have loved it though, both band's sets look good. Vertical Horizon is also good.
I just wonder the level of "exposure" this really gains thrice at this point in their career toward this particular fanbase. Idk.
I dunno, BMTH is really big and their fanbase seems younger so I think with songs like Silhouette and Arsonist in their set, I can't see people not wanting to check them out after. Who knows though. I know seeing Thrice live for the first time is what sold me on them so that's my personal take.
I think playing in front of a new crowd is a good thing but there doesn't seem like much crossover appeal between thrice and this era of BMTH. Hopefully some percentage of these crowds will go listen.
Has Thrice become the Hot Water Music of their generation? Are they now the veteran band that tries to fit in with the new kids as mentors (like Hot Water was to them)?
I dont think so, they still write good albums it's not like they're living off their pre-2005 days trying to cash in on nostalgia tours like some of their peers.
Crowd is huge, i def think this tour will be a good thing for them, assuming some of these kids have half a brain
Also, we haven’t ranked things In this thread before so here are my updated rankings: Beggars V Alchemy TBEITBN Artist Illusion Palms Identity Crisis Major Minor
Vheissu TBEITBN Beggars Palms Alchemy M/m Artist Illusion Identity I almost put M/m over Alchemy because there are a few tracks I don't care about at all on Alchemy, but there are also some awesome tracks on there. Only album I don't care about is Identity.
Wow this is tough. Like picking favorite children. Vheissu Alchemy Beggars To Be Everywhere Palms Artist Major/minor Illusion Identity
May be a pipe dream but I would love for them to do another concept album project of some kind. I think they nailed the alchemy index. Wishful thinking.
