Eh i think it’s a little crazy to say @Mike J was being piled on. He was being aggressive and attacking people for absolutely zero reason.

I steer clear of YouTube comments for the most part, but the Hold Up a Light video is getting eviscerated.

 

1975 is my number one. Think I've got Palms at 5. A Brief Inquiry just felt like an album that captured the zeitgeist in a way that I don't think an album has done in years. At the risk of sounding pretentious, it feels important. Palms is very good though and I won't argue with anyone who calls it their number 1.

I think I just scalded myself on that take. I'm gonna have to go back and listen to Carry the Fire, and then report back here.

Also, I think the video is fine.

 

Truth be told, I listen to Thrice for their music and not their videos. If the songs are good (they are) then I don't mind them putting out subpar videos.

 

I used to be really into music videos back in high school (at least when there actually was music on our local music TV channel). Now I don't care at all about them.

 

These. I mean videos are nice treats and I check them out but I am in it for the music, if I love the song and the video is butt idc

When the music video for Image of the Invisible dropped, I remember being in awe.

This ended up being #6 on my EOTY list. I really love it and think they did some cool stuff they haven’t tried before. Some of the lyrics still bring me to tears or give me chills. My favorite moment of the record is probably the second chorus of Pines when everything kicks in. That was also my favorite moment of their live show. I like the production, but I think I prefer how completely massive TBEITBN sounds. Hold Up a Light is a good song, if a bit repetitive. At this point in their careers, I don’t think they would make or promote a song they didn’t believe in.

That’s all.

 

I hate the song, but "All That's Left" is really well done.
