I feel like when you've sat on 3 singles for a while, you can over-play 7 new songs pretty quickly I'm still listening to the album pretty much daily though lol
Yeah. I also find these songs less dense than other music I’ve been poring over recently. That’s not a knock to their quality, but I moved on and got hooked elsewhere. Haven’t listened in a couple weeks.
I still listen to songs from this record every day. I got tired of hearing people complain about vinyl. Not that the complaints weren’t valid, I just bought the album with no vinyl. And I haven’t been able to go to a show, so that hasn’t been relatable. So less to add to a thread. I love this record. I always do with Thrice. I just want to hear new music from them like any b-sides they have.
I just don’t really enjoy this album outside of like 3 songs. Three albums in a row now that I’m indifferent towards.
Beyond the Pines is awesome. I still kind of place the songs as “what alchemy index ep” would it have went on.
this album is fucking amazing and will be in my list for sure this year I just got distracted by Coheed, which will also be in the list
I had no real desire to listen to it again, but fall weather surprisingly still hasn't kicked in which means that I'm not in the right mood for this.
I'm back now that my show was last night! So glad I went in blind because their set is full of surprises! I snagged a poster from the merch table and framed it with my ticket and printed out set list. Even though I wished for Silhouette, All The World is Mad and Yellow Belly, I loved that I was surprised with Paper Tigers, Beggars and Anthology. Besides Just Breathe, they played the best songs from Palms. A Branch in the River rules live. Sorry to read all that vinyl mess everyone is dealing with.
This album is great. They were fantastic live. Beyond the Pines is likely a Top 15 Thrice song for me.
This. Brockhampton, This Will Destroy You, and Coheed have had my attention with their new records. I love this album, I just don’t have anything to say about it that I haven’t already said. I also think I stopped listening for a bit so I wouldn’t be so bummed about missing their Boston show haha.
I had never heard of either opener but liked them both. They did their jobs of getting everyone pumped up, especially Bronx. Maybe the singer listened to complaints because I don't remember a "mother fucker" coming from him at all. He did do two sings while moshing in the pit while still singing which ruled.
I really hope that on their next tour for this album cycle they play Just Breathe, Everything Belongs, My Soul, and Blood On Blood.
Branch was awesome. Hold Up a Light should’ve been, but neither the crowd nor the band seemed that into it (though they still sounded great).
I've said it before, but I really think Everything Belongs would flow really well into For Miles. I really liked Hold Up a Light kicking in right after Beggars actually, I thought that worked well.
