I will say tho imo your avatar is their best work. Well def my personal fave. It's the perfect bridge between Pneuma and their later work.
"Beyond the Pines" is a religious experience live, my God, straight chills the whole time. I've seen this band 7 times and they have never disappointed me. Songs from Palms all sound great live. Ended up liking The Bronx more than I thought as well, the lead singer put on a great show.
Has anyone had any luck contacting Epitaph and obtaining resolution for the Tour Vinyl variant issues? Background:Tour Variant is supposed to be clear with black streaks. Those purchasing and opening are revealing an ordinary 180g record instead, myself included.
about 12.5 hours until they hit the stage in NYC pummmmpedddd have any merch pics been posted/is there a tour variant of the vinyl? (i know vinyl is a touchy subject recently...........)
There have been merch pics, but I can't get one at the moment. There is a tour variant of the vinyl, but be wary, as there's been an issue with people opening their tour record when they get home and seeing its "clear with black" (but it's just straight up black).
yeah man there's a tour vinyl. it's clear w/black smoke. If you do decide to buy one, open it immediately at the merch table. They've had issues with the plant packing in 180g black variants and labeling them as the tour variant. My buddy got one when we went two nights ago and didn't open it until we got home......it was all black.
It depends on what your city requested. They did poll for each city before the tour and will switch up a song or 2 based on that. Last night in MD they played The Earth Will Shake for the first time on the tour because it got the most votes
A couple notes about their show last night 1. The new songs sound great 2. They are impossibly perfect sounding in a live setting 3. This was the 4th time I've seen them and am sad that I can't use my "i've seen Thrice, thrice" joke anymore 4. Teppei is possibly part of the same sect of ageless vampires that Keanu Reeves is from.
On point number 2 of your post I took a friend that doesn't really listen to any of this type of music. After Teenage Wrists and The Bronx he was like why does everything sound so muddled. I told him to wait until Thrice comes on cause they sound great, needless to say he was very impressed. For someone who doesn't know their sound to say they were great live is a pretty good indication of how good they really are in a live setting. They have never sounded bad to me in all 7 shows that I've seen them.
reaallyy reaaaaly reaaally reaallllyy not making the next 4 hours of work go by any quicker guys really cool of you all.
