Damn, that was unintentional. Sorry, guys. I was drinking and I just said the wrong song name, for some reason. I was thinking of Daedalus.
Excited for the show tonight, taking a friend that knows nothing about Thrice, so it should be interesting.
I can confirm this to be true. I’m referring to the Daedalus portion of the post. No clue if TJ was really drinking or not.
It lists Firebreather on setlist.fm. Is that a mistake? Makes sense if it was. They seem to play either Firebreather and Beggars or Yellow Belly and Long Defeat. This would be the first Firebreather / Long Defeat combo.
Did Moving Mountains ever open for Thrice? Was playing self titled last night. I miss that band so much.
They did on the thrice farewell tour Edit sorry wasn’t on the farewell, was on the M/m tour didn’t see them unfortunately
great. really short set though but intense. That tour had Moving Mountains, O'Brother AND La Dispute open for Thrice. Best lineup I've been to A little underwhelmed about seeing The Bronx(saw them open for ETID on the Big Dirty tour) and Teenage Wrist
That was my first time seeing Thrice, too. They had already been my favorite band for 6 years. What an experience. They ended the show with To Awake and Avenge the Dead with Dustin crowd surfed during the ending breakdown. Then after the show Dustin did a free acoustic set in this random patch of grass behind the venue for that Kony2012 shit haha
Setlist.fm not being totally accurate makes me feel better about them playing Beggars almost the entire week before Atlanta and then not playing it and then playing it again like 2 days later...
I really can’t remember. O’Brother left a firm impression, and I remember not really enjoying La Dispute. I think I had tried to listen to Moving Mountains on the days or weeks leading up to the show and couldn’t get into them then either.
