Thrice sounded great tonight, and yeah like @shea said - The Bronx was fucking awesome. Picked up the tour exclusive of the new album so I’m looking forward to spinning that soon.
Top album sales is pure album sales, and Palms was #7. The first link uses the Billboard 200 which incorporates streaming numbers as sales equivalents. Palms was #27 there.
Teenage Wrist was a fine opener. I was intrigued. The Bronx really rubbed me the wrong way. Like, I’d be happy to get hyped if you hadn’t just called me a motherfucker 30 times in the last minute. Their musicianship was awesome. It was really just the lead singer I wasn’t a fan of, but that’s just because his stage presence (while I understand the point) was grating to me. I was also just ready for Thrice.
I have no interest in either of those bands, I may just show up late on Thursday and just enjoy Thrice.
Yea, I enjoyed Teenage Wrist, too. I was gonna buy their album from them but as soon as I finished my Thrice purchase my exhausted brain had me leave. I got outside and was, “shit. I was gonna go support TW.” I was so tired by the end of that set. I gave my feelings on The Bronx above. But, yep.
Remember when some goofball attacked me for suggesting the notion that some people don't like Branch? I wonder if he's read Chorus' review yet.
I kind of feel that if we've already reached out that we're good to go as far as being included in this mysterious solution.
kind of, but it does say we need to submit a photo of the record we received so I plan on doing that to be sure.
This is exactly what I expected. Haha. Followed the instructions from the tweet (that even Thrice retweeted) and this is the reply I just got:
I'm interested to see what the proposed solution is. I'm happy with what I got, but I also have no qualms about being opportunistic and feigning disappointment to get something even better
Finally listened to this, never really listened to a full album from these guys besides one of the Alchemy Indexes a friend gave me in high school, Really liking it so far
