So excited for this tour after watching their IG story, but November is so far away. 7th time since returning from hiatus!
Its weird for me thinking about how many times I've seen this band live. It's gotta be floating around the mid 20's. My mom always gives me a hard time about how I'm seeing them again. lol
Blood on Blood is the biggest grower for me on here. Lyrically it's the best on the record and there's so much to parse through thematically.
Seeing them live was when they finally clicked for me. In a rush of ferocious sound, I understood immediately.
That was the case with Foxing for me. Couldn't get into them, but after their tour opening for Circa, I got hooked.
Some bands don't translate that well live, but Thrice does not have that problem, they are amazing. I am procrastinating buying tickets for the show on the 4th for no reason, need to get on that asap.
I should of went to that Circa tour since it actually came to my town but got lazy and didn't go. Was a good lineup Hail the sun and Foxing as openers.
Foxing was similar for me too. Saw them open for Brand New a few years ago and Manchester Orchestra last year, and O'Brother open for Thrice and Brand New a couple of times. Sometimes the live setting shows them as masters of their craft better than a recording ever can. Honestly, Thrice made Brand New look like a garage band that night. My first time seeing both, November 2009. I was there for Brand New, but left in utter awe of Thrice. The Arsonist... LAWD.
Have you heard Void Ripper by Animal Flag? Don't think you ever answered. That band translates extremely well live. The record is excellent. I think you would like it.
My first time ever seeing Thrice live was last year with Deftones and Rise Against. What an amazing show.
I want to see Thrice really bad, but I just fucking hate driving in Boston. It's so stressful, and now I live an hour and 20 mins away when I used to be a 45 minute drive and would have work the next morning
Listening to some THRICE b-sides and I just got angry again that the band announced it would play Red Telephone on their last tour, and proceeded to play it at every tour stop except Chicago.
