Hold Up a Light is the only song on Palms i'm not super into but I still like it. I just find it a little too repetitive/basic (like Wake Up on TBE) other than that I love everything else. I will say tho i wish I hadn't heard/listened to the first 3 tracks they just don't feel as fresh to me as the rest. Also now that the album is officially out and I've had more time to spend with it in full quality, I've got absolutely no complaints about the production whatsover. In fact, I love it even.
The Grey is the only one that doesn’t feel fresh to me, but I’m glad it’s so early in the album. If it were in the middle I might zone out during it.
Yeah The Grey was released way too damn early. Definitely that one the most out of the three that doesn't feel as fresh.
To me the slower songs/ballads are the most moving tracks on the record. Oh it had to be you, am i losing it, take me home and float on. But ya definitely an underrated gem of a record imo.
I think Hold Up a Light coming right after that spectacular outro helped me enjoyed it more. I got so hyped after the outro, like I was about ready to jump into a mosh pit, so HPAL helps keep that hard hitting pace even though it's more generic. It's like a one two punch, definitely the heaviest tracks on the record.
Here's my top 10 currently: 1. Thrice 2. Thrice 3. Thrice 4. Thrice 5. Thrice 6. Thrice 7. Thrice 8. Thrice 9. Thrice 10. Thrice
My record arrived today. Sleeve is pretty rough. I probably won’t fuss about it since I can’t seem to keep things in perfect condition
Just met D$ and Da Boiz which, if you weren’t aware, is what they will be changing their name to and falls in line with Riley saying they aren’t afraid of doing whatever the fuck they want. I didn’t bring anything to sign and also didn’t ask for a picture cause I hate asking for pics so it was just a super brief hello and thank you. Donuts were v good too. Only took a creep photo
So far it's contending with my current number 1, Sevendust's All I See is War. From the new Atreyu tracks though, I feel that could contend for me as well!
After first listen, I really like this album. A lot of it is deceptively simple, but with headphones there is a LOT going on in the background. Teppei is doing a lot of noodling in the background pf the Grey that I didn't notice when just watching the video of the song. I was really disappointed by Beyond the Pines. Everyone loves it, but I think its their weakest closer so far. Hopefully itll click. The only song I'm not feeling at all is A Branch in the River. They've been my favorite band for over a decade so I'll be listening to this a lot. Hopefully it only gets better
How do we know that. I must have missed something, because I thought Thrice wasn’t big inning b sides. Want to know more because that’s be great news.
