Honestly I think its main problem is it goes too long. If it was a little shorter it'd feel less repetitive. Emma Ruth Rundle. Check her out, she's fantastic.
There’s so much to digest here, I’m really happy this isn’t To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere 2.0. The Breckinridges kill it on this record. Favorites aside from the singles on my first listen were Just Breathe, Everything Belongs, My Soul, Blood on Blood, and Beyond the Pines. I expected Beyond the Pines to erupt into one final loud chorus before fading out but the ambience at the end is gorgeous. I wasn’t huge on A Branch in the River on my first listen but I’ve already come around on it, the ending is ridiclous. My Soul is sexy in a way I never expected a Thrice song to be. I’m rambling but I’m so happy with this.
I wish I hadn’t listened to the singles, they seem a bit detached but I’m sure that will change with repeated listens
I was hoping the slightly better quality (320 kbps) on the official stream would improve the sound of the drums, but sadly they still sound pretty muted/muffled/covered up.
"Let go, and let yourself be carried to me..." "...CARRIED TO MAAAEEEE!!!" *Aggressively dances across the living room like a responsible father and husband would at 2am*
TBE has a greater number of songs that I love, but the highs of the four songs that I love on Palms put it above TBE.
However, we've all been doing this long enough to know that we should let some time pass before ranking a fresh release.
Spotify done effed up and put “Only Us” on the new releases instead of the album, hopefully they fix it soon.
