Mine still says shipping soon. My buddy got his grey/black variant from KRM today. He just texted me the pic of it. Hoping it just shows up today.
Haha I am such a sucker for that stuff. Not only do I love watching that show in full all the time, but I constantly fall down YouTube rabbit holes watching live bands.....even filmed from cell phones! I need help.
I listened to 4 Thrice albums in a row yesterday - Vheissu Beggars Major/Minor and Palms. Beggars is easily my least favorite, it’s in my bottom few albums from them i’m afraid to say. I just don’t think it’s a great record like everyone else. Major/Minor is much better imo. Vheissu is still tops for me because the songs are just brilliant and sound so different from one another, but Palms definitely sounds the best of any of their albums. Palms is so excellent!
Man, that's tough. Both have songs on it that I love. I think House of Blues sounds better. I honestly have a playlist where I combined songs from each.
So I was thinking about how even though I like all three songs a lot, The Grey being in between Only Us and The Dark seems a little jarring. It breaks up the flow since Only Us and The Dark kind of seem like the same type of song, slower moody tracks with heavy synth. The Grey being a loud fast rocker in the middle breaks a little of the flow. I listened to The Grey first and it's a pretty good opener, with Only Us fitting well as the 2nd track, flowing into The Dark. Maybe I'm way off on this, but it sounds pretty good in that order. Not sure which one I like more.
I know you are going to get shit on for saying Beggars is your least favorite, but I gotta support the M/M love! When it was released, I never would have thought it'd be the black sheep of Thrice albums haha. I still love that record all the way through.
I've said this before, and I'll say it again, but it's a testament to the strength of their discography and their output to see how varied people's favorite albums from them are.
Mine says the same thing. Hoping for a surprise and they've already shipped it for arrival either today or tomorrow.
I never got a shipping notification, just checked USPS and its out for delivery now, so I'll have the vinyl tonight
No Beggars tracks, no To Awake and Avenge the Dead. Overall it's still a really good live album, but the only things it has better than Anthology are the inclusion of Flags of Dawn, The Earth Isn't Humming, and Hold Fast Hope. My preference for Anthology over Live at HOB for new listeners to the band is that it covers more of their discography as well, since Live at HOB has nothing from Identity Crisis, Beggars, or M/m.
anthology is def better for overall discography, but I love HOB bc it reminds me of that great era right after Alchemy was released.
Blood on Blood is my fave song on this atm. There's just something about that one that hits me in the feels.
The two most moving stretches on this record for me are Just Breathe to My Soul and the one two punch of Blood on Blood and Beyond The Pines.
