I was just gonna say that "My Soul" is their most sensual song.

 

Hold up a light is ubpeat, way better than Stay with me.

 

They should have extended the ending in A Branch in the river, it's killer.

 

Speaking of Thru Fighters, they're taking a page out of their book via guest vocals and fan engagement. I don't want to call these things gimmicks, but Foo always come up with some sort of device to serve as a selling point. I hope Thrice expands on this for 2020's release. Julien, who was on the shortlist for Palms, can do a song... ERR can do another song....

 

Ed rules this record.

 

These two songs don't belong in the same sentence. Light is the Wake Up/Blood on the Sand of this record.

 

But it's much better than either of those two songs.

 

I like Wake up, also an upbeat and catchy song. They can insert a catchy song here and there, if the song itself is good I have zero problems.

 

Well, you just proved my point: "Wake Up" is the more apt comparison.

 

Relatively speaking, yes.

 

Between this and the new Joyce Manor album I'm really hating myself for my "no listening to leaks" policy.

 

Guys stop it. I can't handle this level of pure hype.

 

Not just because we all sound so good but does anyone else think the fan-choir chorus on The Dark should have been repeated one more time and then fade out? The end felt so abrupt.

This album is great though. I am very happy with it. Not sure where it ranks yet though.

 

Yes, it's a better comparison. But I still think that Stay with me is probably the weakest link of TBEITN.

By the way, Only us has grown A LOT on me.

The production in The Dark is absolutely amazing in the first 2/3 parts of the song. Later in the song... not so much.

The song itself? Gorgeous.

 

I don’t want to comment much on production until I hear this thing with my monitor headphones or on vinyl

 

Stop disrespecting the throir.

 

I listen a little bit of 'Chole Dancer/Crown of Thorns' (Mother Love Bone song) in the piano of Everything belongs, and that's great.

 

That MLB reference just made amends for that "Stay With Me" take.
