The first moments of "Everything Belongs", before the piano kicks in at 0:10, reminds me of the opening of "The Sky is Falling".
Dustin's performance on this record is just ridiculous. And the fact that they didn't embellish him, for the most part, makes the performance even more ridiculous.
Alright. Hold Up A Light is my first clunker on the album. It's the "Stay with Me" of Palms. I can't not hear the Nickelback vibes. Some redeeming moments (Dustin's vocals, Ed's bass, the outro), but yeah.
Are we in agreement that "Blood on Blood" is this record's Radiohead song? (The Window, The Great Exchange, etc)
This time around, Dustin's Palms performance can't be demeaned via commenters' snide comparisons to "butt rock" singers. He gave us every flavor he has to give and then some.
