Yeah I need to familiarize myself with both Gates and La Dispute. Going to the show a week from today and haven't listened to either band before.

 

I soooooo wish I was going to a show on this tour. Only one Canadian date makes me very sad :(

 

I've dabbled in Gates recently. They're decent.

I tried to listen to La Dispute back when they toured with Thrice in 2011. Problem is, I'm a huge mewithoutYou fan, and they just didn't match that expectation for me.

 

Bought my ticket to the ATL show. Now to check out Gates and some La Dispute stuff I haven't heard(Wildlife and Rooms of the House).

 

The new Gates is decent. I can definitely pick up some similarities with the band Owel on this new one. Interesting because Kevin Dye is producing the new Owel record so to me it seems like they had an influence on him. But I like both bands so I'm not complaining.

 

Have you listened to the rooms of the house? I think that record took their sound to another level

La Dispute is playing an off day show with Gates and Des Ark here in Raleigh, debating attending. Saw La Dispute the first time they played with Thrice right before Wildlife came out and they were great but never gave Rooms a real listen so I'm curious what they would play on a headliner. Never have listened to Gates or Des Ark.

 

So I entered a contest to win tickets a while ago and I totally forgot about it and I just found out I won tickets to the sold out Orlando show! Talk about dumb luck!

I already got my wristband for that too! I originally got the wristband as a plan B seeing as I couldn't find tickets to the show but now it's just icing on the cake
