I think what gets me so much with this album is that I relate so much less to the pseudo-Christian themes of Beggars than I used to, and this feels like the modern deconstructed from evangelicalism version of that for me. Vesper Light does something to me that I haven’t felt since I gave up “worship” as an outlet of my faith (whatever wherever that even stands now, I don’t know).
I haven't listened to this album yet and this description has me planning to set time aside and read through the lyrics as I listen, thank you!!
Those sneaky bastards! Australia will never forgive them. (Technically, there was no overlap, but I have to believe one affected the other. That would've been six consecutive months of travel.) I've never heard Dustin speak with that much inflection.
No, we won’t! Not even no overlap, but a month in between. I’d like to think that the two aren’t related but if they are.. god forbid a touring band you know, tour.
Been diving deep into these guys for the first time. Have only listened to their comeback album & Artist over the years but experiencing Alchemy & Vheissu these past few days has been craaaaazy and very rewarding.
Man, this album is so fucking good. My fav in a while. Freakin bummed they cancelled the Aussie tour.
