I am hoping their next material is the sequel to the alchemy index or something similar where they continue to explore their sound
Interesting to see Holding On getting the most plays so far on Apple Music. Even more than Black Honey. I like that song a lot but have seen less talk about it amongst the fans.
I interviewed Dustin earlier this month if anyone wants to check it out! Thrice On 'Horizons/West': 'It's Thematically More Dense Than Anything We've Done Except For Probably The Alchemy Index'
I don’t think the Apple Music Top Songs chart is based solely on number of plays, I think it also includes current popularity.
Need to catch up on the reactions in this thread, but after thinking Palms was just okay and the last Horizons was pretty good, I think this album rips. Dustin's falsetto in "Vesper Light" is fucking gorgeous
Wow, absolutely adore that the end of "Unitive/West" just holds out on that ambient note. This album kicks ass Beggars Vheissu Major/Minor Alchemy Index Vols. 1 & 2 Alchemy Index Vols. 3 & 4 Horizons/West (for now) To Be Everything is To Be Nothing The Artist in the Ambulance Horizons / East ----------------------------- Palms The Illusion of Safety Identity Crisis it bothers me that the titles are formatted "Horizons / East" and "Horizons/West" on Spotify, lol
Yeah, it can't simply be total plays ever since the song was released, as it wouldn't have eclipsed "Black Honey" yet.
Hot take! On ranking the best song Thrice has made it is The Earth Will Shake. I'd say it shows the best of everything each member of the band excels at, I never get sick of it.
Vesper Light is the big hook of the album for me. Excited for that one to come up on every spin. Also, thank you for appreciating my post about Taylor Swift referencing @jonnyredwood on her album. I worked really hard on that joke.
I've come to Thrice later in life, but one thing I can always say about their more recent releases is that Dustin's vocal tone is always gorgeous. Just love it. A lot to like about this album, feels dense and needs repeated listens. Hasn't blown me away but I'm enjoying it.
This one didn't have much staying power for me. Bunch of cool tracks. Loved the singles and revisited them a bunch. Not sure what it is overall, but haven't really been itching to hit play.
I'm not even that crazy about Holding On but it's been stuck in my head all day hm maybe I am crazy about it
The setlist is unfortunately kinda predictable and not all that asimiliar to past ones. Was kinda hoping for some deeper cuts or more post hiatus material, but I'm happy anyway and just glad they're playing Vesper Light. The lack of Undertow is disappointing, but maybe they'll switch things up a bit throughout the tour
