The allegations against Maynard were proven to be fabricated by the main accusers. Also we were in no way endorsing or comparing them to Thrice. Chill
I want them to open their set with “Unitive/West” kind of like how they used to open with “The Lion & the Wolf”. That into something like “Scavengers” would be awesome.
Using sexual assault allegations as a cudgel against people you disagree with musically is kind of a bad look, you aren’t bringing it up because you care about victims you’re bringing it up because you don’t like the bands music. But do your thing
Wtf man why do Thrice threads turn to shit most of the time? Anyways, going to the Baltimore show, really want to hear Vesper Light and Holding On live, I think there’s a good chance I get both of those, but will see.
i really hope they break out vesper light. im pretty excited to see how these songs translate, gnash is gonna demolish esp. havent seen them since before east either so i hope they break out a lot of that too
hoping a retirement of pre Vheissu ish - since they did all of that last year+ Would love a post hiatus focused set
Also agree. It's enough already with Silhouette and The Earth Will Shake. I've seen Thrice like 20+ times and I feel like they've played those songs at every single show. I'm so burnt out on them, as good as they are in general. I would also very much love to see them play Stumbling West finally.
I would super down for this as well. I have also seen them 15+ times, and I have had my fun watching deadbolt and other IOS/Artist songs over time especially with the revisited tour, but they have so many awesome songs beyond those albums that don't get played. The fact that they might often feel "obligated" to play certain songs is maybe outdated since their fanbase has been around so long now. I would be so much happier to see anything from Deeper wells and the two non-East singles than more historic set staples at this point. I saw dead wake in setlists for their last tour and almost died when they pulled it from the setlist before my date.
They won’t retire TAITA songs, wholesale. Like, probably won’t get Paper Tigers and Abolition Of Man much. But the title track, Silhouette, and Stare At The Sun will be played a lot. Cold Cash, too, probably.
Gotta play the hits, but I'd be just fine if they kept the deeper cuts from old albums and let the others sit for a while. It's an age old conundrum.
Think it's guaranteed they will play considerably less songs from it as they just spent an entire era promoting the rerecording, and they now have to make room for the new album. Probably just going to keep the title track and Stare At The Sun at least.
Right! Daedalus one of their best. I don't care if their sound guy thinks they don't do it justice live.
