I think I still have that 7-inch. They should do a follow-up: Shohei-tbreed Mookie Index Kershaw Walled City
Love everything about the new song. The glitchy electronic stuff, the dancey 2nd verse, the entire last minute of the song. We're so back.
Very cool track. I'm so curious if Gnash is going to be the record's outlier in terms of heaviness, or if it's truly an indication of what's to come. Also, has anyone else noticed that the visualizer's intro is slightly cut off compared to the track upload?
This has to be their heaviest song since maybe the Fire EP, right? I can’t think of anything else. Wow, surprising.
Listened to East for the first time in a while this morning, and I can confidently say it's their best post-hiatus album. Hopefully West continues that trend.
On first listen I didn’t know how to feel about it, but I really like it after a couple. Not going to lie there hasn’t really been a Thrice single that has grabbed me as much as the rest of the album in recent years so I’m not expecting the full album to be like this song.
Digging this new song. Wasn't feeling Palms or Horizons/East very much. Haven't loved a full album since Major/Minor, so to hear them talk about that era has me intrigued for sure!
always love what he does with thrice's artwork, this looks really cool and i'm happy to pay extra for it.
I must be missing something - the deluxe edition artwork looks almost identical to me. Obviously there are few cut-outs, but I'm not seeing a big difference. And is the barcode incorporated into the design on the front?
from the artist: Art direction and design for Thrice’s “Horizons/West” — CD, LP, and Deluxe LP. Every format is printed on 400gsm uncoated stock. The deluxe LP has a clear plastic slipcase with a Pantone spot color, 17 die cuts on the gatefold jacket, interior Pantone spot color, a clear plastic lyric insert with 2 Pantone spot colors, and a custom cut inner sleeve that allows the vinyl variant to show through the front cover, changing the color tones of the diagram. The clear plastic insert protects the vinyl from scratches even when the slipcase is removed. Hidden messages throughout the entire packaging (not even the band knows what they mean). This is by far and away the most complicated packaging I have ever made and I am very thankful to @thrice and @epitaphrecords for the continued trust and assistance.
Deluxe - artist and album name across the front, track names and numbers on the left, cutouts adding lots of additional colors, words, and just busy-ness to my eyes: Standard - much less clutter, mostly clean geometric shapes:
Packaging write-up sent me over the edge. It's a bit steep for one record but looks damn cool, so just pulled the trigger on a deluxe LP. Alchemy Index is still one of my white whales. Hoping to find it used in a record store some day. That's the dream!
