Cataracts and Promises have always been two of my favorites from that album. Ed's groove in Cataracts is just fantastic. While I understand the religious critique of Major/Minor to some extent, I've always found it to be a well-executed record, musically.
New song is available in the UK so gave it a listen and WOW, this is definitely the coolest thing they’ve put out in a long, long time. Kinda sounds like Radiohead crossed with Vheissu, Dustin legit sounds his best, very happy with the direction they’re going in based on the two songs so far.
Just used a VPN to hear this, holy shit, I am so in for this album. I haven't felt this positive about their singles since Beggars.
Listened to 30 seconds of the itunes preview and think Im going to hold off on the rest till the album comes. Sounds very very cool.
Yup. Broke down and listened to the new song. Pretty sure after one listen is better than most everything on Palms
Its available here, I just listened to it, and holy shit its incredible. I assumed the comments I was seeing were hyberbole but no, totally justified hype.
Listened to a bit of this and the song sounds cool, but this person has 100% never listened to Kid A.
begging and pleading for the day when people on this site stop comparing all music with a prominent bass and synth to radiohead, it’s so odd
legit don’t know how you can’t hear a Radiohead influence in this song. If there was a time to compare. This it it
Yeah the Radiohead comparison is nothing to do with the bass or synth for me, more the verse reminds me a lot of 2+2=5 especially when the guitar comes in, think that’s a fair comparison to make
i like the song a lot. it’s really good and dustin sounds great. just a weird thing to see happen, like, half a dozen times this year so far just because bands release something moderately different from what they have before.
