A lot of this album is reminiscent of Kowloon Walled City. Perhaps not surprising given Scott Evans' involvement and those bands being fans of each others, but it really shows.
I was just wondering the same thing. Kowloon Walled City I guess this is them and an easy place to sample or buy.
Yeah, I'm glad they swapped out Deeper Wells for Dust. I'm just not big on the former. The outro is kinda cool, but they have too many better songs. Like, imagine having a song as good as The Window and just not playing it.
I know this isn’t related to the record but holy fuck, I’m watching the live at HOB DVD again for the first time in a long time rn and forgot how insufferable people yelling Deadbolt / T&C / Phoenix Ignition was lmao Also pretty sure DK says “Quiet, dude” to a fan right before launching into Hold Fast Hope lol
There's also that one spot where Riley says "we're not a jukebox" and Dustin thinks it was someone in the crowd.
My first few spins I felt the front half of this record was absolutely stacked. But the back half is growing on me like crazy. Still Life -> The Dreamer -> RSE -> Dandelion Wine is currently my favorite run of songs on here.
