I agree, but there's another dozen songs that I've heard them play every one of the last 10 times I've seen them.
I'm not trying to complain about the set. It's a solid set. I've just seen them so much that I wish they'd mix it up more. If I had never seen them before, I'd consider it near perfect.
They are playing 9 songs they didn’t play on their last tour. And 3 of those songs are ones I don’t believe I have ever heard live, which, given how many times I’ve seen them, is a pleasant surprise. Looks good to me!
I'm not disagreeing with you at all. I agree with the general sentiment of your post - Thrice has too many set staples I'd like to see them rotate out in favor of other tracks. I could go without seeing them play Deadbolt or TAITA live ever again in favor of another track off of those albums. I remember when Deadbolt was "sleeping" from their live sets, and they started playing TOAATD instead. Those were the good 'ole days. But still, this setlist makes me want to go to see them on this tour quite a bit. But to deal with sitting through Chon, listening to the crappy sound at the Aragon, and pay $48.55 to see them primarily? That's a tough one.
Yeah, I guess this is just making me lean more towards going to see Power Trip instead. I'd love to see Thrice again, but I'm only interested in seeing them really.
By looking at that Circa setlist I’m guessing it’s an hour long set. That’s how long the setlist was on the AFI “co-headliner” And they played an hour. So I miss out on ten minutes of Thrice. Sick.
4 BSN is interesting, much more than the rest of the songs. especially since i feel that record is pretty divisive amongst fans
Interesting. The Thrice post on setlist.fm said 70 minute set. I guess we shall see asvtht your progresses.
I came so close to being in the Tampa area visiting my mom while this tour is there, but it didn't work out. I'm so bummed about not seeing two of my all time favorite bands in the same show. If it wasn't all the way across the country for me, I'd probably still try and go for the show.
BSN is their best album IMO, so I'm happy they're playing 4 from it. They were sort of hinting at a BSN tour in the next couple of years during the OLG tour
they're playing my faves from BSN (which is a great cold weather sort of album in my mind), and all the other albums as well. Can't wait to lose my mind at this show
LA show #1 was so awesome and I wish I could go tomorrow. I missed B&C which is a bummer and Thrice closed out the night. They both played around 70/75 minutes. I loved getting the Alchemy songs (I finally saw a Water song!) and it's always great seeing Circles. Having Artist third was nice and the back to back to back heavy songs after Hurricane brought tons of energy in the crowd. Dustin sounded a bit off and the heavier throaty stuff wasn't quite there, but I'm sure be better within the next couple days.
Ever since I've been following Thrice they have always done a great job at mixing up their sets. I get that this set has a lot of the same songs as last tour, but I love the order they have the songs in.
