still gotta marinate on this but i enjoyed it for the most part. worth sharing that the trailer made it far more high octane than it actually is, and it feels longer than it’s 100ish minutes before the credits. but again, mostly won over and it’s nice to see something this out there on as many screens as it’s getting

This was okay, but so goddamn creative all around and that's the best way I could describe my thoughts lol. Sucks that it probably won't get the attention it deserves for that.

Also wtf at the occasional similarities to Memoria

the radio/transmitter stuff and academic goddess Tilda

What an odd film, but extra half star for originality, heart, some pretty cool moments, and George Miller.

    run away with me Platinum

I could definitely see how this was rattling around in his brain again after Fury Road, there always have been and always will be Immortan Joes
the themes of how storytelling and human connection are what power us were really done and Idris and Tilda are always compelling

how does a professor have such a nice apartment in London

    So assuming that this weekend...

I thought this was fantastic. It felt like a novel brought to life on the big screen.

Loved this on first watch and can tell it's one of those movies that will get better with every watch as well.

MJR had $3 tickets and concessions today and the place was packed. The line for concessions was literally to the entrance doors. We picked this film and I’m glad. This is in my top five of the year so far.

saw this with my mom today with the $3 deal

I liked it quite a bit, but it's definitely an odd film. Kinda surprised that my mom made it all the way through. She kept saying "this is weird" every 10 minutes.

Sadly this didn't do much for me. It was intriguing initially, but I found myself losing interest in each subsequent tale.

There was a lot that I loved in this, and I’m glad I saw it in the theater… but I don’t think I really liked it that much as a whole. :-/ The longer middle story really lost me, unfortunately. And, in spite of how good some of the stuff afterwards was, I couldn’t quite get back into the groove.

“Stories about wishes are always cautionary tales” oh yeah what about Dragonball Z huh, who knows how many genocides would have happened if Goku wasn’t constantly being wished backed to life

Just watched this and I really liked it. It does feel like a novel originally. I was hooked once the djinn came out, and found the story pretty interesting and unpredictable. Loved the disoriented camera work when she passed out during her presentation, which reminds me - what was up with that thing she was seeing? Don’t remember it being explained other than I guess to establish her as an unreliable narrator as a woman experiencing demonic hallucinations. But they seem to undue that in the end (twice)
