I think all the focus on the comedy overshadowed the fact that the action was awesome. It was like watching a heavy metal comic book in action. Thor has never looked more badass.
Saw this today and loved it. Taika is so great. Korg was my favorite part of the whole thing and I also really loved Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie.
Not one of their better episodes. They didn't really have too much to say other than disagreeing about liking it.
I did not expect my favorite MCU movie of the year to be Thor, holy shit. This was fantastic. So fun and hilarious. Hemsworth is a much better comic actor than he dramatic, and Goldblum was fucking hilarious. I love that his big evil emperor character was still just Jeff Goldblum
I still liked Homecoming more than this, but I thought this was just fantastic. A top tier MCU movie in my opinion. Korg was the best part.
This was fine. I agree with the criticisms that this felt more like a Marvel movie with slight Waititi touches rather than the other way around.
This was just a ton of fun and so enjoyable. So many great moments. That Thor retelling of the snake story was gold.
Same. I do also wonder how they showed the trailer for Infinity War at one of those big expos earlier this year which was primarily Thor and the Guardians set right after this movie. Surely Thor's missing eye should've been present, and that trailer is no longer in continuity with the MCU?
Yeah I dunno it doesn’t seem like anything was supposed to have dramatic impact in this movie. Which worked for me
They probably did it on purpose to not spoil this movie. I thought it was cool. If you look at the ragnarok trailers it wasn’t there as well.
It's not uncommon for trailers to edit out certain bits of a scene to avoid spoilers. Thor alone did it with both the eye and his lightning during the Hulk fight, Civil War did it with Spider-Man etc.
Saw it for a second time yesterday. Think I laughed more the 2nd time round! I hope we get some Korg in Infinity War and not have him killed off by the inhabitant of the Sanctuary 2 in the mid credit sting
just saw this today and man. i loved it. i don't know what to say. it felt really good. acting, direction, cast, humor, fight scenes, music, pacing. i wasn't bored for a second. best thor movie by far and easily a MCU favorite. Edit- oh and I loved seeing Thor and Loki channel their powers more. Totally nerded out about that.
I just saw this movie earlier today -- it was nice to take a break from everything for a bit. The action was so much fun to watch. Of course, Korg is the best.
Oh and the scene with Matt Damon playing Loki and Luke Hemsworth playing Thor? What a brilliant cameo
