I guess my issue is the anticipation that is no longer there. P1-3 for me, I was counting down months to the next one to see what happens next. I enjoyed that. It was one long-movie. For me, End Game was a theatrical experience like no other. All five times I went I was just in awe and blown away. And I completely credit that to the world building from the previous Phase movies. I don't get that at all in P4. I'm watching them, yes, but with a completely different energy level.
It’s 100% content for the sake of content. It doesn’t have to be building towards something but at least be interesting.
You are right, it does not HAVE to be, but it always is. Most of the end credit scenes allude to a new character, new movie, etc. to progress the Phase. I just think this Phase is doing it poorly, comparatively.
I don't think the post-credits have to be looked at as guiding the overall storyline so much as trying to build excitement for the future or the next thing.
The only new characters in post credit scenes to my memory are Valentina (Widow and Falcon), Clea (Strange), and Starfox + Pip (Eternals). And now Herc. But the new characters are clearly relevant to the franchises they're appearing in. I dunno, I don't want to seem like an apologist; I just legitimately don't see a problem.
Can't believe I forgot that one. Although if you stop to think about it, it's kind of a worse introduction than Clea. In Clea's scene, you see a woman, but don't know who she is. In Blade's, you hear a man, but don't know or see who he is.
Wait, Blade was in the after credits scene? Man, I hated that movie, pretty sure I watched those two and didn’t pick up on it? Or did I skip them? Weird.

They did. So it'll be what, 6 years before we get even the beginning of a payoff for that? How long will it be until we see Clea or Hercules or Starfox?
There's rumors that Starfox is getting his own movie or series so maybe sooner than we think for him at least
Well this movie kinda showed “Thor” can be a title. Sooo technically “Thor” can return as anyone right?
Finally saw this. I give it four out of five screaming goats. Some of the humor in the beginning was a little misplaced, but I think the movie ultimately settled into a groove.
I loved this. So, naturally, I'm gonna need someone to come in here immediately after me to say it sucked.
